One month.

Saturday marked my one month anniversary in London. Kind of cool, but also weird since it feels like 17 years since I was home. Many things are starting to feel normal (finally). I can now estimate about what time I'll make it to the office based on when I leave in the morning. I'm getting the hang of the whole always-having-an-umbrella-handy thing. And when I get to the tube turnstiles, my tube pass is magically already in my hand without having to think about it!

But for every one thing I'm starting to get used to, there are 20 that I'm still having a hard time with (superficial items on that list include the lack of personal hygiene over here and not being able to tell time without doing math in my head)... but I'm trying not to dwell on those right now!

Didn't take very many pictures this weekend, but here are a few randoms from throughout the week.

This is me fighting with our electronics that decided to malfunction mid-Alias climax.

Late Tuesday night we went in search of ice cream in our pjs...

Found some! But couldn't even taste the ice cream because of the body odor from the guy behind me that permeated the entire room.

Given how much walking is involved on the morning commute, everyone wears tennis shoes to and from work, and leaves their work shoes at work under the desk. It's genius!!! I refused the first 2 weeks because it looks so ridiculous with work clothes. But after one too many blisters I decided to join the masses.

Saturday night we went to see Wicked.... with a FRIEND!!! Yes, we already made a friend :)

Lazy Sunday afternoon at home making some cards. SSS this is for you!!!!!!! :) :)

So, I gave in.

I always said I would never under any circumstances start a blog. But after 3 weeks into my 2 year stint in London, it's becoming increasingly clear that it will be nearly impossible to keep in touch with all my friends the way I'd hoped. So after thousands of requests... I have given in and here it is... my effort to share my experiences living abroad through pictures!

I won't start at the beginning of my move (see facebook pictures for that). But here are a few pictures from our first "real" weekend as Londoners.

Friday night we decided to try out our neighborhood pub - Drayton Arms. LOVED this place!

Saturday morning we got up and went in search of outdoor farmer's markets... but not before stopping at our favorite neighborhood cafe for a mocha and chocolate croissant.

Then off we went to explore on our bikes. We hit pretty much every London landmark during our 2 hour bike ride (Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace, London Eye, Big Ben, Picadilly Circus, Oxford Circus). Everything is so close!
The carrot that dangled in front of Rochelle's face the whole day - the world's best ice cream in Primrose Hill!
We took the tube back home and made our first home cooked meal. Spaghetti and garlic bread.
Sunday. Back to our cafe for mochas and croissants before heading to church. This place is a winner.
After church we packed a picnic and spent the afternoon relaxing in Hyde Park. It was a perfect day!
