Playing catch up

Below are a few phone dumps from the past few months that didn't deserve their own post, but I don't want to forget they happened!

The Joyces, Besancons, Chels and I are obsessed with the bean game. We have had many a fun night congregating our various houses playing this game well into the night!

First day of Wimbledon, the jumbotron was out at my office and we enjoyed many lunches that fortnight outside watching the action.
On middle Saturday, Megan and Rochelle and I got up at 3am to go queue. We arrived at 4am, and were #2,063 - 2,065 in line. Seriously? That means we weren't guaranteed court tickets so we went back home and went to bed.
The night before, Carson had been born, so after we woke up (for the second time) Chels and I went to go meet the long awaited little guy. He was so tiny!!! So precious.

The happy family!
We couldn't get enough of him.
18 hours old - I was in awe.
We went back to Wimbledon that night but couldn't get in, so we came back to Duke of Clarence and watched the rest of the day's tennis on the TV. Instagram collage from that day.
Fast forward 1 week, and we all came back to the Duke of Clarence for a Wimbledon men's final party. Sunday roast during the first set - yummmm!
Meg and Trey
All of us enjoying the match! It was amazing... I love Roger!
The night after we got back from Morocco, we went to a Lady Antebellum concert. Dressing for country - we all showed up in plaid! Haha!
They were phenomenal!
We stood for 3 hours - taking a break on the floor!
Hanging out one night in a pub... baby Carson came!
Baby in a bar... can you spot him?
This past Saturday, a friend from work and I got tickets to Ascot through work. Watching the horses parading around before the races...
Watching from above - coming down the stretch!
Watching from right at the race track...

Um, that would be the queen! I was about 10 feet away from her earlier that day when I happened to be at the entrance to the royal box the minute she came! As Allison says, my time in London is now complete :)

my african debut

Last weekend I got to cross another continent off my list! Kyle, Chels, Megan and I headed to Marrakech, Morocco for a quick weekend away. It's been 55 and raining in London since March, so it was high time to find some summer weather.

Boarding the plane in London - sun attire at the ready!
Right after landing. IN AFRICA!!! Sorry, I'm not over the fact I was in Africa.
Checking in took forever, the forms of personal details required were unreal!
It was so late we just decided to grab dinner at the hotel. Chels ordered calamari, and it's pretty obvious how she felt about it. Hahahaha. It was literally as if the squid had just been taken out of the ocean.
At least we had these guys to serenade us!
The next morning, we got up and headed to the Souk for some shopping. On the way, we passed the mosque which is the highest building in Marrakech.
Ready to hit the shops (stalls, rather)!
We hired a guide, Mohammed, to show us around and make sure we didn't get lost or harassed. He also stopped to give us some history lessons along the way.
This was one of the first guys we came across - preparing cactus fruit to sell. We bought one and tried it - it tasted so weird.
Before biting in!
Sifting through nuts of all shapes and sizes
I took so many pictures! As this post will go on to prove...

This was at a pharmacy, these women were making oil from nuts... it can only be made by hand!
Shopping for jewelry
Talking shop.
Everything is connected by super narrow alleyways... there are no streets!
Some cool shots from around the Souk...

So many textures and designs everywhere!
Right before we left... holding the only thing I bought - a painting (Al are you proud?)
After a few hours in the city, we were ready for the real reason we came - POOL TIME!!!
Just chillin'...
Making sure our fingers and toes don't turn into prunes (my biggest pet peeve)
Stopped for some lunch - all the Coke cans in Arabic!
Don't know why I'm making this face - the burger was soooo good. I mean, compared to the squid from the night before.
We got cleaned up that night and then headed out for dinner! Mom, notice the dress :)
At Azar - such a cool restaurant (and may or may not be where Gwyneth Paltrow goes when she is in town). Good research Megan!

After dinner, we decided to head to the Four Seasons for dessert. Waiting for the taxi to come....
It took forever!!!! I was annoyed.
They were just sad.
In the taxi - took this flyby shot of Arabic stop sign ha.
We eventually made it - the decor was unreal. Loved this stairwell with hanging lanterns. Megan had just bought one of these earlier that day from the same place that supplies the Four Seasons!
We had an amazing rest of the night hanging out there over dessert and coffee and Moroccan mint tea.
We woke up the next morning and spent the whole day at the pool.
Dealing with the airport on the way home was quite the saga. Between Chels and Kyle's full on trunk (notice under Kyle's arm) and Megan's 2 light fixtures, we had to sweet talk our way through the 5 different check points before we got on the plane. Love this shot - we had just made it through the last hurdle of security and were walking to the plane. Such relief!!!!
Amazing trip. Lots of firsts, culture, vitamin D, and time with some of my favorite people on earth.
