Weekends at home

Just a few miscellaneous phone pictures from the past few weeks in London town...

We took Kyle to the famous "La Fromagerie" in Marylebone for lunch a few Saturdays ago...
THE most delicious tomato and mozzarella salad I can remember ever having... cheese board was delish as well.
We met up with AK, Bill, Steve and Megan for dinner at this picturesque little pub in between South Kensington and Notting Hill. Chels and Kyle standing out front...
Group shot (minus AK whose head got cut off)
My firm has a house in the Olympic village, so we had an event there last week. This is me in front of the Olympic stadium!! On this day there were 102 days to go before the opening ceremonies.
Sunset over the stadium
Yucky weather this week has made commuting brutal.
Megan's parents were in town this week, and they generously included me and Hannah the night they went to see Singin' in the Rain (the musical). SUCH a fun show... such a fun night.
Took this today as I was walking through Hyde Park - spring has arrived!

Easter weekend

The British know how to do Easter right - it is a proper holiday and we get Friday and Monday off. Poor Megan's passport is with the British border agency for visa renewal, so we decided to explore somewhere in the UK we had never been since she couldn't leave the country. So off to Dartmouth we went (in Devon, southwest coast). I forgot my camera, but managed to document most of it with my phone.

We rented a car and a Tom-Tom, knowing we'd get lost without it. 1 hour outside of London, our Tom-Tom broke. Megan pleaded our case with Avis, but there was nothing they could do (except laugh at our misfortune).

We were left with only our iphones to guide us... and guide us they did, into the middle of NOWHERE without cell reception. This was our view for a good few hours as we tried to navigate one lane roads through English farmland.
But we did it! Finally made it to Dartmouth - the most adorable seaside town. This was the view from our balcony.
Megan immediately began searching restaurants for the remainder of our stay...
The next morning, we took a walk through Dartmouth. Here were our views....

We walked through the town and up the coast for more views of nature... this was someone's garden we passed. Really?

Getting more remote...

Pictures don't do this view justice. We sat on this cliffside meadow and soaked in the amazing view for quite some time. It's so therapeutic being by the water I love it!
A little Easter morning reading on the balcony.

Easter morning service!!! There was a little cathedral in the center of town that we went to for church - such a beautiful day!!
We had spa appointments all afternoon (massages and pedicures), then came back and finished the afternoon off with Downton Abbey. So relaxing....
Our last day, we headed to another beachside town, Salcombe. It was pouring rain, windy, and freezing cold. Not thrilling.
Couldn't even enjoy the view because our umbrellas kept going inverse from the wind hahaha.
Even though it was freezing, we were determined to get ice cream because it's made with Devonshire clotted cream... Megan faking a smile (we were so miserable).
I can't fake it.
LOL. I can't even adequately explain the lead up to this picture. But after a long and frustrating and expensive and unfortunate chain of events, we ended up having to take a train back to London. This is me and my 5 bags (we were supposed to be "road tripping" so threw a million things in the car, including 6 pairs of shoes - 3 of which were boots). I haven't been this mad in a while haha. I HATE having too many things in my hands, especially on public transport!!!!
Although it had a frustrating ending, the trip itself was great - so nice to get away from the city and just relax for 2 1/2 straight days. I can't end this post with a pouting picture, so here are a few instagram shots from the past month.

Notting Hill on a summer-esque Saturday!
It's been so warm, my co-workers and I have been going to sit on the steps of St Paul's to eat lunch... my view when I look up.
Rochelle's parents were here last week, and they took us on the Jack the Ripper night-tour... lol!
And that's it! Busy season's almost over, so more exciting trips and visitors just around the corner... can't wait!
