This post is a bit delinquent, I realise.... sorry Dad! Here are a few phone dumps from the past month, followed by pictures of Katie and Chris' visit!!
My bosses gave me a fancy dinner on the firm - and we went big! Hix did NOT disappoint! Megan and Chels with our starters... yummmmm.
Oh my beloved steak.
Friday night out with my work crew - me and Suze and Theo below.
7 weeks worth of care packages from Mom and Dad arrived at once a few weeks ago. It felt like Christmas!!!
Hannah got free tickets to the premiere of Titanic in 3-D in Leicester Square. We felt like we were 13 again!
5 minutes after Katie and Chris' arrival - yay!!!
First stop - St Paul's cathedral
Climbing to the top - all 500 steps
The view was beautiful!
You can see the London eye in the background.
From the top, we headed down to the crypt where Katie and Chels had meltdowns. They couldn't stand their legs were shaking so bad with cramps from the climb lol.
We walked across millennium bridge ("harry potter bridge") and then headed to.....
The London Dungeon!!!! We went so many times as kids when we lived over here, we just had to go back for old time's sake. Pictures weren't allowed inside, but we snapped this at the entrance. It was soooo cheesy and not at all like it was 15 years ago!
Chris and Katie on the "boat to hell" - hahaha
From there, we headed to the National Gallery for tea and scones.... delish as always. It was Katie's FIRST scone and clotted cream experience (since she was still erroneously diagnosed with celiac the last time we were in London). I believe it lived up to my dad's and my hype, did it not, Kates?
Indian for dinner - Noor Jahan yummm.
One of the best shows I've seen. Ever. Maybe second to Les Mis. And this is coming from someone who HATES children's movies/plays/shows! Seriously.... so. amazing. Please see it if it comes to your city in the US!!!!
The next day, we headed out for a day in Greenwich - passed Westminster Abbey on the way to the boat.
Love this picture! So happy for blue skies after 3 weeks straight of rain!!!
Passed under Tower Bridge on the boat to Greenwich
Waiting for our chorizo sandwiches at the Greenwich market
I LOVED them... Chris and Kates weren't so sure.
From the top of the park in Greenwich - I love this juxtaposition of the old and the new London (old buildings in the foreground, canary wharf in the background). 2 random facts about this pic - the stadium that's being built in the front of the pic is where all the equestrian events will be held during the olympics, and the old buildings in the middle of the pic are where the new movie Les Mis (with Russell Crowe and Anne Hathaway) was filmed, just this month!
The next day, we headed to Windsor Castle. Love the clouds and blue skies in this picture! (I may sound a bit obsessed with blue skies... but you just don't understand how rare they are and how much I'm in constant withdrawal coming from southern CA!!!!)
Sitting in the sun eating ice cream
We watched the entirety of Downton Abbey Season Two while they were here - I can't believe we have to wait until January for season 3!!!!
Playing the bean game (aka Bohnanza) and eating brownies. Dad, you need to buy this game. Katie, the hater of all things games, even raved.
Family skype sesh on Mother's Day!!!! All 5 of us together (Dad was there too... he took this pic).
