Allison just flew home after a little over 2 weeks with me here in London. We were on the go non-stop and had a blast, as always! We spent a little over a week in London, and the rest was spent on our annual sister trip (this year to Italy for my 30th birthday)! I'm going to have to break this up into 2 posts as I took over 1,000 pictures, so here's the London edition.
Saturday brunch at Daylesford in Sloane Sqaure her first morning - love Sloane Square!!!
Sunday roast at Duke of Clarence
In front of John Owen's tomb (famous theologian)
We miraculously got tickets to Book of Mormon - tickets are sold out through October!
The show was.... HILARIOUS in most parts and overall really good, but also had a few extremely horrific/crossing-the-line-sacreligious parts. Read detailed reviews before buying tickets!
.....Fast forward through our trip to Italy (just to explain the severe change in the color of our skin below!)....
Our first day back, we got up at 3am to go queue at Wimbledon. BRUTALLY early, but it's such a part of the Wimbledon experience! We got there at 4am... most queuers were still fast asleep in their tents.
Waiting in line. We were freezing - walking in place while playing on my iPad to keep warm.
We got court 1 tickets!!!! Proudly displaying our Court 1 wristbands.
Inside the grounds, in front of the order of play.
Walking around before the matches began (but post a massive souvenir shopping stint, hence the big bag!) - in front of Centre Court!
We hung out by the practice courts hoping to see a few players. Sadly all the big names lost the day before (Federer, Sharapova, Nadal, Tsonga) so we had no hope of seeing them. But we did see Tomas Berdych who signed a ball for us!
The only other noteworthy player we saw - James Blake.
Court 1 matches didn't start until 1pm, so we walked around and caught some doubles before we settled into our seats for the day. Here's Leyton Hewitt!
Grabbing some lunch - SO happy to be sitting down with water in hand. We had been awake and on our feet for 9 hours at this point!
Strawberries and cream: round 1. I couldn't even stop eating long enough to take a nice picture.
Sooooo delish.
Then it was back to our seats to take in the next match - Richard Gasquet v. Go Soeda.
A rain delay hit right after our 2nd match was completed, so we headed to Henman Hill to watch the action on Centre Court on the big screen. Such a fun atmosphere!!
Strawberries and cream: round 2!
Such a "Wimbledon-esque" way to end such an amazing day!!
The next day, we met Stephanie (Allison's high school friend from Duchesne) for lunch - hadn't seen each other in 12 years!
That afternoon, we hit up the National Gallery for tea and scones. YUM!
Then onto the National Portrait Gallery to see Kate's new royal portrait!
Allison's last day - picnic and cards in Hyde park.
Fro-yo on the walk home... in my happy place.
Last dinner at her fave place - Greek!
SUCH a great week and a half playing in London - we definitely maxed out her time here!! Stay tuned for part 2: Amalfi edition... coming soon!

THRILLED beyond belief at our seats!!!!! Literally 5 rows back right at the net. Serena was up first - can you see her behind us??
Serena in action versus Caroline Garcia from France! I don't particularly care for Serena as a player, but she was surprisingly subdued and not obnoxious at all (probably due to the bad press she got before the tournament!)Strawberries and cream: round 1. I couldn't even stop eating long enough to take a nice picture.
Sooooo delish.
Then it was back to our seats to take in the next match - Richard Gasquet v. Go Soeda.
It was only 4pm, but we had been up for over 12 hours. We hit a lull and could NOT keep our eyes open.
Nothing like some tea and scones with clotted cream to wake us up post match #2!A rain delay hit right after our 2nd match was completed, so we headed to Henman Hill to watch the action on Centre Court on the big screen. Such a fun atmosphere!!
